Friday 5

filed under: all about me

I haven't done one of these in a while because the last several Friday's have had weak 5's. Tonight I'm kinda bored and waiting for a rerun of Sex and the City that I missed last night to start (is that strange to anyone that I watch that show? - I also haven't missed an episode of The L Word) so I'm doing this one anyway (even though I'm three days late). Don't leave me hanging out here - comment with your answers too.

1. Are you superstitious?

No, but I like to play along.

2. What extremes have you heard of someone going to in the name of superstition?

I love hearing about what sports players do. Basketball players always do the same routine before shooting free throws. Hockey players will tape their sticks exactly the same way each time. It's interesting to me.

3. Believer or not, what's your favorite superstition?

There can be a enjoyable novelty to routines in themselves. That's about all there is to it to me. I don't do anything particular myself (if I think of something I'll come back and edit this one). Then again I enjoy mocking superstitions by doing or not doing the opposite of what you're supposed to do. Does anyone else feel like walking under a ladder and breaking a mirror? Maybe I'll throw a hat on my bed while I'm at it.

4. Do you believe in luck? If yes, do you have a lucky number/article of clothing/ritual?

We make our own luck. If part of the process for you is doing something symbolic then good for you. As for me...I've always liked the number 3.

5. Do you believe in astrology? Why or why not?

I have no reason to believe or disbelieve in astrology at this time. I'm perpetually on the fence with most of life's great mysteries (if you haven't figured this out about me already). I'm open to (and welcome) discussion.

1. Are you superstitious?
A little tiny bit

2. What extremes have you heard of someone going to in the name of superstition?
Not much really, but being raised in a culture full of believers makes almost any superstitious belief seem minimal.

3. Believer or not, what's your favorite superstition?
Making a wish everytime the clock shows the same number (ie. 3:33, 11:11, etc.) and of course, kissing your necklace charm everytime the end and the charm meet.

4. Do you believe in luck? If yes, do you have a lucky number/article of clothing/ritual?
Yes, and no. I just live life the way I see fit. If I'm lucky, then I'm lucky and let me say, I'm usually lucky when it comes to things that affect me. But I also try to make them happen, so it may not be luck. I don't know.

5. Do you believe in astrology? Why or why not?
No because it is so general and can be applied to just about anyone.

so when r u supposed to throw a hat on a bed
