I took advantage of the early voting tonight. I was greeted by five ladies at the Crane County Courthouse tonight who all knew me. At least two of them looked vaguely familiar but I'd be lying if I told you I could name even one of them. Such is life in the small west Texas town I find myself back in (only momentarily, mind you) after nine surprisingly quick years. Crane is also the only place I know that while I vote I can park my truck at the police station when a) the inspection sticker has expired as well as b) the registration and c) no insurance and not worry about it.
Who did I vote for? I'll give you one guess. But it's safe to say I didn't vote for this guy.
Do your own part in the electoral process. And do NOT chose the "straight party ticket" option. I can't believe we even have that as a choice. Make use of the cornucopia of information available to you on the internet and take a few minutes to pick your candidates wisely. Vote-Smart.org is a great place to learn a little about the people who are and will be running this country.
