What’s next?

I hit another snag with my motorcycle. On the way to my current, lovely host Margaret’s house in Pine Mountain, Georgia my starter decided to say goodnight. I made it here but now I’m a little stuck. I haven’t been able to locate a starter in this little town or the surrounding area just yet but a few very friendly people are asking around for me. Cross your fingers that a) one will be located for a price I can manage, and b) that i’ve diagnosed the starter as being the correct problem.
For those of you who don’t know this is the latest of a long list of parts on my motorcycle that have suddenly decided they’ve gone far enough. Since I entered Florida i’ve had a somewhat major problem with the motorcycle on average of every other time I move on to a new place. At this rate I’ll either slowly (but quicker than I’d prefer) replace each part of the bike until it’s all new or (and this is significantly more likely) completely run out of funds and have to suspend my mission of hitting all 48 lower states. Any guesses on how it will turn out?
Maybe I should take bets on what on the bike drops out next (if, of course, i get it going again). Go ahead and pick what you think it will be below.

Let’s hope it’s not the alternator. I just found out that replacing it requires the daunting task of removing the entire engine. I’ve already spent more on this bike than it’s valued and I’m not ready to see the final nail in it’s coffin. I love that bike (now named, before its too late, Gracie) and I hope I’m able to keep her around to see 40 more states.
