Cheers to my dad this father's day. He's always been someone that I not only looked up to but, fortunately, couldn't help but emulating in a lot of ways. He's always supported me, usually without trying to talk me out of it) throughout the many seemingly ridiculous things I had my mind set on in my life (like quitting my job/life and roaming aimlessly around Europe several years ago), and for that alone I've always been more than a little awed. I'm extremely blessed that I not only know this man but that he's my father. Dad - I don't say it enough but when I do I couldn't mean it more: I love you.
Even thought it's about a week too late I'll say it anyway - happy new year!
I made it from Cali back down to Texas (by the not-so-direct route of North Carolina and Virginia, no less) to spend some quality time with the fam before heading off on the next adventure. Dad took a bunch of us (no, really, a BUNCH of us) on a cruise down to Mexico to ring in 2008. While cruisin' isn't really my style can you really say no to a free cruise? Really? I think not.
And I'm glad I went. I now find myself in Chiang Mai, Thailand (long story that will probably come later) and have no idea how long it'll be until I get back to Texas again, so it was really great to catch up with so much of my fam. As usual, I didn't take near as many pictures as I wish I would have, but I went ahead and made a video of the ones I had (coupled with one of my favorite water-type songs - it should be obvious enough). So enjoy!
Yep, your read that title right. Today is both the birthday of my mother Betsy as well as my stepmother Barbara (yeah, i know, it's a wee bit unusual). Happy birthday to the both of you!
4 days, 1000 miles, lots of partying with family old and new. That's the short story of my weekend.
I met up in Houston with most of my extended family to see Matt and Maya tie the knot at the Houstonian Hotel. For four days we had an amazing time. I took lots of pictures which I just threw together so everyone could see them. Enjoy!
This weekend was a lot of fun. A bunch of us were supposed to meet up in Paint Rock with Dad, ect. but it didn't work out. Instead Abbey (my sis) and I drove to Dallas to see Michael and Julie (my brother and his wife). Saturday night Michael and Julie (finally) beat Abbey and I at a loooooong game of Trivia Pursuit.
