Amsterdam!
Ah, finally made it to Amsterdam. I love this city. It's such a fun place.
Friday I started my journey from Denmark. Erik and Lone drove me to Flensburg where we walked along the harbor and pedestrian streets looking for a good bite to eat. Afterwards they dropped me off at the trainstation where I didn't really want to say goodbye. I had been with them for almost two weeks and I really had a good time. I didn't want it to end!
But it was time to move along. I have a lot more to see and do and people to meet in Europe.
So I made it down to Hamburg where I met up with Tini from CouchSurfing. Tini was so cool that I wish I had planned on staying more than one night. She was also a big Pearl Jam fan as well as a music management student. Sounds fun.
I had found that the train prices to Amsterdam from Hamburg went for about 80-90 - which I wasn't too excited about shelling out for. Instead Tini turned me on to the German buslines site. What a deal! Only 32 with my "student discount". Shhhh, don't tell anyone. Really, I'll be carrying that university card around until they laugh at me.
On the bus I met an Aussie from Perth named Nikola (there's no way I spelled that right, I'm sure). She definitely helped make the seven hour trip go by really fast. We parted ways soon after reaching the city agreeing to meet up the next day for a day of sites. I was off to find my host for the night named Latti.
Latti turned out to be fantastic. She lives in a cool part of town with almost as much personality as herself. I just met her and I already know I won't be ready to leave her place - whenever that time happens to come.
